  2. Hi, my 4 year old boy is currently with Yamaha doing his Yamaha Junior Course. They're taught using Yamaha Electone Stagea Mini ELB-01. If you got the intention to upgrade to a new Stagea, do let me know cos I'm looking for a 2nd hand Electone Stagea Mini ELB-01. Or perhaps, you got friends that want to sell. Many thanks and all the best.

  5. Dear Puiyeel

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

My boy is currently at Plaza Singapura Branch just into his 2nd week of Primary 2 JMC. For now, he's using a very simple 54 keys keyboard. The reason why we didn't get an Electone Stagea Mini ELB-01 is because he's still very uncertain if he will continue and complete the 4 years course. Also because, we as his parents don't have any music background, we too, have difficulty coaching him at times. Thus, we thought if we could just get a 2nd hand one.

Thank you for your kind advise. In the meantime, I'll check out on the rental.

    My contact no. is 90902478.

Thanks & do have a great day!

  6. Hi Mrs Chia,

    Oh you're from Singapore.
I'm sorry but I'm from Malaysia but I do have some friends in SG if I heard they wana sell of theirs, I'll inform u. I'm not sure if SG have rental then.

By the way, JMC course, maybe you can get him a 61 keys keyboard. If he finishes JMC by then they'll need to decide to take up Electone or Piano for the proper yamaha grades, by then only you decide get him a proper electone or piano also not late. Because in JMC they'll only taught some simple keyboard skills playing on both piano and electone, but keyboard also quite enough for practices.

I suggest you see your lil boy have more interest in piano or electone only then you decide =)

  7. Dear Puiyeel

From the bottom of my heart, I really appreciate your time and kind advises :))

Oops, I didn't know you're from Malaysia. I happened to come across your blog while surfing the web. Without knowing much and I wrote to you. My apologies. By the way, it's nice to know you through here :)) and I enjoyed the soothing music played while visiting your blog :)) Thumb-up, Puiyeel.

I always admire one who could play an instrument. Perhaps, that's the reason why I'm hoping my little boy can do so. After 6 months of course, it doesn't seems that easy, but we're still trying...

Once again, a very BIG THANK YOU to you!

  8. You're most welcome, I just telling what I know and my personal opinions only. So no worries at all! =) Thanks for dropping by my blog also.

Yea, I know a lot of parents send their kids to music class because of that reason. But do remember, enjoying the music and learning it is 2 very different thing, do not push him too much, let him enjoy the process, pushing too much may cause him losing interest.

I myself started JMC when I was 4 yrs old, I wasn't really keen on practising and playing bcoz my mom always force me to practice, I don't know what's the purpose. I stopped Yamaha when I was 12, I was at Yamaha Grade 6 piano.
FYI yamaha grades are 9-6 for students and 5-3 for teachers.

I always have interest in electone but my mom never allow me to take it up bcoz I have problems with my legs, she worried I can't handle it.

So after stopping music for more then 10 years, I decided to take it up again at my own will, taking up electone as a challenge, and finished my yamaha piano grade 6 just recently. Continue grade 5 now.

I can say, music learning is not a easy journey, especially if you don't enjoy it.
But if u enjoy it, it is really a colorful world. =)

  9. Dear Puiyeel

    Good Day to you :))

Oops, I see myself like your Mom, forcing my little boy, Damian to practice, which he isn't really keen. Every week, it became quite demoralising having to attend lesson unprepared. The Teacher will on every lesson stress "go home and practice". Sigh!

After 6 months, Damian still doesn't recognises G-clef Solfege, "Do", "Re", "Mi", "Fa", "Soi". He has been using his memory to memorise Solfege of the Key Board Game/ Rep. So I guess, he may have difficulties coping when the Teacher teaches more... and may lose interest sooner or later.

I'm sorry to know of your problems with your legs. I'm sure, God will bless you well and I believe, a strong girl like you will overcome any obstacles.

Congratulations, for finishing your Yamaha Piano Grade 6 and doing your Grade 5 now :)) Am sure, with your determination and love of music, you're gonna to do well with colourful stars... :))

    Warmest Regards
    Mrs Chia
