I wanted to go out on my own for some adventures for a while already, but I just couldn't get my butt off this chair. So finally this morning I woke up and I tell myself I will go out!

Where to? Somehow, I love to go to street markets at Hong Kong, especially those with a lot of things to look at (or buy) and cheap.

Actually there's one near my area, which located at Pei Ho, Sham Shui Po (SSP), but recently I have been to SSP for so many times, for meals and dessert, so I decided to go elsewhere. I looked up on net for some other street markets available and I found Chung Yeung Street Market which is located at North Point. So off I go, MTR my way to North Point.

I took the long way to escape the crowd. I decided to go to North point by Yau Tong interchange, when I reach north point, as I was walking, someone tapped on my shoulders... when I looked up, was my lecturer, Nadim! Hong Kong's really small huh!

Actually the last time I went to North Point, I had egglets, at King's Road.

But this time around I exited the MTR station by the A2 exit, and I look for road sign boards. I found out there's another street market there~ Marble Road Street Market~!!

There's actually a lot of things to buy there, and cheap.

I got myself

a pair of jeans (hkd39)

3 pairs of socks (hkd10 for 3)

a turtle neck long sleeve tee (hkd49)

1 roll of musical notes designs wallpaper (hkd5)

That is in total HKD103 = about RM42~

I was like omg! That's one street market! And I haven't found the one I wanted to visit!

So I kept walking, on the way finding that, I actually went into another shop and bought another checkered shirt for hkd20~ that is like RM8

So there goes RM50!

Can you believe it? RM50 you can get a pair of jeans and 2 tops already? and 3 pairs of socks?

So I continue walking, and I found King's Road playground, more like a park. So I went in and sat a while. Packed my stuffs into my backpack and wore my jacket. Drank some water and check my map.

Behind that park is this

The Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department. Super random findings really!

As I continue searching for Chun Yeung St. Market, I realized I was walking towards the wrong direction, so I turned back, but I decided to walk with another road parallel to where I have been walking, turns out, it was King's Road, lol~

I walk along that road and I saw a shop clearance, I almost wanted to buy the pair of Nike shoes there, HKD200 only~ but in the end I didn't. And then I saw McD, I decided to go in and have my really late lunch and the per usual McChicken burger + small coke + small fries (HKD18) as other sets of value meals here are all quite expensive, the cheapest value set would be Nuggets or Fillet O Fish, HKD20 per set. Anyhow I went for a burger instead as it'll be more filling~

Oh ya, before I went into McD, I actually went into this Salvation Army family stores which sells a lot of 2nd hand stuffs and then make it as donation. They even have used clothes tagged as "TVB"! I wonder, is those like, from the dramas or what =P

And after the McD late lunch, I finally found Chun Yeung St. Market.

As I read from the net, it was call as Little Shanghai long time ago as you can get many goods here.

I find it very interesting as it is a street market where both sides have shops and stalls but there's tram track in the middle, so occasionally, you see trams passing by, and ringing the bell "ding ding" =D

And so from this Street market, I got myself some vege and tomatoes (3 for hkd10 - 2 kind of vege and some tomatoes) and also some prawns for hkd10 too~! That is like RM8 can get myself some ingredients for 2 dishes already~

It's almost 6 when I left Chun Yeung street and headed towards MTR station again, and then only I realized, both street markets are just side by side haha~ divided by a flyover~ no wonder I can't see it! And guess what? As I pass by Marble St market again, I got myself a pair of new sneakers for HKD99 (RM40) which consider quite expensive already, since I can get much cheaper at Fa Yuen St, but the design is nice so I bought it. So there, almost top to toes with RM100~ =P

By the incoming of new shoes, means old ones have to go, this time...2 go off, bye bye

Got back to hostel about 7pm~ had a great dumpling dinner cooked by my tutor Cherry!

It's been 2 months since I arrived in Hong Kong.

I would say I have already settled down. I felt I have already kind of blend in to the pace of life her or at least are quite comfortable with it.

Studies are alright, but I wished I could be stronger and ignore those unnecessary stress and focus I should do. I'm trying to.

Someone told me I looked like I have slowly regain my energy, regain a life.

I do really hope and feel so too.

I don't know how to explain how surreal it is and how grateful I am just to be in this place.

Although I don't get the fresh air I used to get back in Malaysia, but I am gaining more energy.

Slowly seeing more things around here too.

People, places, and all sort of things.

Actually 2 months is short, but why do I felt super long...

Perhaps I have done a lot compare to what how I was in my routine-ish days...?

I guess, and I hope so.

First week at SCM

It's a few weeks late, but I just got my laptop like last week and got things sorted out. So now I have some time to post up some stuffs~

My first week at School Of Creative Media (SCM), City University of Hong Kong, was an O-Week~
As in orientation week. We each are given 2 white cube box and have to do something about it.

I have group up with 3 other people and come up with this,

Hehe, it was fun setting up this small little installation art~ People are suppose to destroy the installation and rebuild it again, to bring out the message, to destroy something is easy and preserving is actually easy as well if you put a heart into it.

SCM is located inside this new building call Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre or we call it CMC. This is an awesome building design by Daniel Libeskind.

I have been learning electone for 3 years+++
I guess I have very much improved in the sense of playing especially my pedalling skills.
Now my left leg is even more lively then my right leg, it was the other way round years ago~
Thanks to pedal training, haha!

Let see, since last year, I have managed to play a few harder songs, although they're not perfectly played but I'm still happy I manage to play them!
Years ago I would say those songs are just unplayable for me =P

Memphis Belle

I never like much of battle/war movies much actually.
But yesterday, I was off, and my dad was watching this movie, and so I sat down and watch too.

This war movie wasn't like any others that normally about the senarios or history of a certain place. This one is about the war plane "Memphis Belle" or just "Belle" as the soldiers would call her. It is a World War II bomber with all young crews onboard, they have to finish their 25th and final mission in 1943, to Bremen bombing a Nazi supply factory, after that they can all go home. I wouldn't say much about the story, you have to watch it yourself, worth the time.

After watching it, I really feel like mentioned by families of the soldiers in the movies, there's many other ways of solving political problems other then war.

I searched up info about Belle. It is still now at National Museum of the United States Air Force. It was the first US bomber to complete 25 combat missions with its crews intact. Maybe it's a lucky plane after all =D I wish I would one day gets to see it.
Do check out its OST too, it includes the famous tune Danny Boy or Londonderry Air.

I am now too reading an e-book written by the pilot of Memphis Belle, Col. Robert K. Morgan who passed away in 15 May 2004. This book "The Man Who Flew Memphis Belle" was published in 2001. He would visit Belle every year he said in the book. I guess now, Belle would miss him already.

Sunday again yes.
And I finally have mood to sit down here and blog a bit.
Nowadays Sundays for me is not as hectic but I have lots to do and with CNY coming also.
I tried to clean up my rooms for the past month but I really don't have a good time to do so, and I'm always tired.

Woke up around 10.30am this morning. Made myself clean up my wadrobe, packed away many clothes, not exactly old ones but those that I seldom wear and don't want to wear. Coz no point buy to keep so many clothes when we also buy new clothes, my small wadrobe will burst la XD Oh well, didnt pack away as many clothes as the last round, but still feel relieved a bit seeing my wadrobe clears up a bit haha~ Ah well, still many clothes on the bed need to clean up..... later la!

Back to this room, my floor is full of books, papers, junk etc.....(cleanest spot at the electone) Ah well, I shredded manyyyyyyy unwanted papers n scores, FUN! Finally below my table have leg space, threw many junks away. But still a lot more to go. Well I don't want to keep so many things to collect dust when/if I m going (whoever knows what i meant, shhh =P)

Really "no eye see" la. So sat down to check a bit of my music homework before I head of to teacher's house for electone lesson later. Took in and start drinking a bottle of yogurt *slurp* and started blogging this~! I should be doing my work and preparing for a test next month, shiat!

Yes, I'm awfully STRESSED now!

But everytime I am, I think of * months down the road where I maybe at, I am so excited already! I totally missing that place! Really hope I am going there~

Hmm, 4pm now, should be moving on and do something else!

It's been a long time since I last bought any music CD or even step into a music store and look properly.
I did that last weekend. Spent almost an hour at a music store in Sg Wang - Victoria Music Centre, really a lot CDs there.

And I saw Joshua Bell's CD, omg, was so surprised~
There's even David Garrett, Lang Lang, Lee Yundi, Ryuichi Sakamoto and a lotttt of classicals albums.

It's a normal music store that sells a lot of pop music, mind you.
I found treasures!!
Will get more in the future months T_T

A walk in the nature

A walk in the green lung of Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Nanas forest reserve (Hutan Simpanan Bukit Nanas) is refreshing. Getting touch with the nature gives the mind to breathe and restart.

To be surrounded by high grown greens is hard to be seen right in the heart of a busy city really.
Is not exactly cooling in there but not as burning sunlight as we get barely outside of this area.

Ah a quiet walk thru here will definitely calm the mind =)

But also a lot of sweat~

This place is just right beside my office area, always when I pass by, I feel the temperature difference, really nice and cooling. The trees are really important to the earth.

A movie like this before heading to sleep is good...

Ahh, well, I didn't say is a good movie or what...if you see reviews and rating about it, it didn't do well. But this movie kept my tiring soul up and watch until the end =)

A Walk in the Clouds, one of an early movies of Keanu Reeves, 1995 (Speed was earlier!). A love story, not exactly a super lovey-dovey romantic one or anything. But what I saw in this movie was about trust, love, about how some think of important of race and nationalism, and also status and job. And of course family.

This movie i felt, was like a book that we can read before we eventually fall asleep. Doesn't need to be a really good book but a decent one that suits the mind and soul will do. This movie does that magic to me tonight I supposed.
It's weird, I've always have this soft spot towards this kinda movies, another example would be Seabiscuit .

Ahh well, it's late now...should be sleeping for now, hope I can sleep well tonight

I realized how long I did not really write anything.
But actually until today, I am still not in the mood of writing a proper post.
Oh well, many things have happened since I suppose.
Some of the matter, I'm still trying to get control over it.
Some I'm trying very hard to accept it.
Some I'm just working really hard, but may never understand it.
Is all about trying and trying?
I guess.

I close my eyes, sometimes flashbacks happens.
Reminding me how time really flies.
Reminding me how I have take some things for granted.
Reminding me how I should listen to myself more.

Sometimes, I close my eyes, I imagined the future.
How I will be. Will I shine?
I don't remember how I fell so deep in love with the place I want to go so much now.
And yet, I see things disappearing before me.
What can I do?

My mood is so gloomy and grey now even playing a lively song doesn't cheer me up.
What should I do?
Oh well, I guess time will do its magic again...

Oh anyway, on a lighter note.
APEF is near, me and my friends are really looking forward to meet up, all the way there =)
And good luck to our Malaysia representatives Patricia and Zie Lik.

Still remember this song?

It was one of the first songs I played when I started to learn electone.
I remember my teacher asked me, "Do you know this song? You should know, one of Andoh's arrangements!"
But of course that first version I played wasn't near to the version Andoh arranged!
It was much faster and EASIER! And I don't even have a proper digicam to record back then lol!

I always like this song really much, this song actually have many different versions in some books. I personally like Andoh's version the best *of course* but the grade 5-3 version is too hard to play.

Luckily now we have the grade 6 version in Andoh's compositions book 2 =P

Just watched this movie over Star Movies just now.
Watched it although I was so sleepy...not because of Tobey Maguire ok....no

I've seen this book on the shelves in bookstores before, on horses and horsemanship section, been curious about it, didn't know it has a movie too!
So I get to watch it just now.

It's a true story. I am not gonna type what's the story about coz u can Wiki it =)
One thing we all can learn from Seabiscuit, the horse, not Tobey =P that no matter how small you are, or how weak you might be, you just need to find a way, to stand strong, to shine.
And find the right place, person and time.
Do not be afraid of challenges.

I really love quality movies like this. Not necessary a blockbuster.
A quality movie that will make u feel, and think.

I love this movie =) Some of you might know why.
Maybe I'll grab this book too to add to my books collections =P
Oh and this movie reminds me of the animation Spirit too...

I've always feel a great soul from the sound of the violin, which always has the feel of carrying a great story, tragedy, sadness etc.

Yesterday, I was working on some work and found out the ever great classical violinist Joshua Bell is coming to Singapore to play, it hit me "OMG! Joshua Bell~!" Who wana go see with me? T_T

With his Gibson ex-Huberman Stradivarius of 1713, he'll be playing with Academy of St. Martin in the Fields' Chamber Orchestra.

I was reading up the history of his almost 3 centuries years old instrument which made by Stradivarius.
While reading it, tears really came to my eyes, such a great instrument with a past....
This violin which is light chestnut color with a reddish hue,
Having come a long way to reach Bell's hands and not onto some industrialist, perfect =)
He sold his Tom Taylor Stradivarius for a bit more than $2 million and top up for the Gibson.

Great things really came a long way.

Instruments have their own life and soul.
And so does its player.

Of what? Electone learning =P
Yeah, started off in 2008. Didn't realized it was so long ago already.
Let's count the fees...... HAHAHAHAH nah, doesn't mind it.
Because I have a good teacher, learn a lot from him in this not very long but also not very short term of 2 years.
He's really a kind person, in every way I can see of.
Not only give encouragements as a teacher as he is, also as a friend.
Great teachers comes in many level, not only experienced and famous can be good.
Surprisingly inspiring is what I would describe him as.
And I'm still having fun what I am doing =)

And no, I've stop following grades for quite some time already.
Learning more songs week by weeks.
I lost count how many songs I've learnt already.
From the first week of leg *died* from stepping pedal, to now can step pedal without really looking or peeking but still not so accurate.
The leg needs its own brain I think lolx!

And yes, I've escaped many performances my teacher asked me to join =P
[I still have stage fright although I performed quite a number of times already with the band]
And he's saying I can't escape it the next round...gawd!
I donnn wannnn (I can so imagine him laughing if he ever saw this =P)

My Mimi? I still love it the most!
He's still alive despite of the tortures he gets from me XD
Still sounds good as new ^^
Just hope the keys don't fall off.
Actually it would be better if I have a better grade electone, it helps in my playing and expression, but what to do, one have to get used to what we have now and adjust accordingly when we get to use better models.
Just love using the EL-700 in school and occasionally EL-500 and Stagea ELS-01c at another place.
Pleaseeeeeeee ELS-01c appear in my school!!!!

I can't imagine one day I would stop from this.
I got really comfortable in this circle to even get outta it.
Someone just reminded me that, people like us, are not odd or weird.
We're just special in our own way, we are in another circle.
I am glad what I am getting from this and people that I gets to meet.
We still want to grow in this circle.
I do hope I will shine, in my own way.
I might not be a great musician/performer like many outside.
But I do hope I inspired some souls. ^^

Till then I guess I still need to work really hard, continue torturing Mimi
while praying an ELS-01c will appear? Haha!
And, I would want to make people who support me proud (you guys know who u all are ^^), I love you guys a lot!

Random things today?

Yea, totally random things i would like to say really.
First, as usual I sometimes goes to Yamaha official website to take a look around.
I am a lil surprised to see that they put up an ad about J course intake =) Nice.

But as I look closer, something's not right....
Erm, they seriously need a proper designer/web designer and not to make info/image mistake to confuse people haha =P
Nah, no big deal =P But do keep guessing, fun.

And I was at Centrepoint this afternoon for lunch.
And there have one Yamaha.
So I randomly went in to check if they have any Yamaha Grade 5 Piano teachers.
But, seems the clerks are not really sure if they do have a teacher that teaches that grade.
Well, they were not even sure what I meant, so we shall refer it as SAC if that makes them understand better.

I hear them "mumbled" that they couldn't allow me to just join in like that.
(Huh? I can't? Why not? I wonder...isn't that just like any Yamaha school?)
And then they said they need to refer to the principle for more info but they forgotten to take down my contacts. Hmmm...

And then I was curious bout the school, so I asked if I could visit around.
I like going to schools where I love the environment, seriously.
They're a bit reluctant at first, but in the end one of them offered to bring us around.

I need to say the place is not bad, in the matter of the environment.
But facilities wise...I was a bit shocked to see very very old model electones used in classes. I was expecting at least Stagea Minis like any other schools.
But I only saw 1 room with 1 ELB-01. Sad.

Well, guess I'll just continue my hunt for the best environment for my course.
I want a good facilities on top of the fees I'm paying, it's not cheap ok...... T_T
And of course, a good teacher.

Hrm, havent been updating for a long time uh...
Well, what's up with me recently?
Guess is just the mood of it.
Some updates now.

Last week, jing, my friend and me went back for band audition.
It went ok, we accompanied for my friend's singing,
so long never played like this. Oh....the feeling.
Everything was ok, just that we had a surprise.
We were told another teacher will be handling my band.
My mind just went *poof* blank.
Well, I have no idea how this will be.
But I wish we were told earlier.
Just see how things go.

Nothing much for piano nowadays.
Exam is in few weeks.
Hope I survive it.
Electone's per usual, learning more n more songs.

And, playing a bit of violin horribly.
Hope i din killed anyone's ears.

Other then that, CNY was not bad.
Get to hang out with friends.
Watched a few movies.

Work, sigh, we'll see.

What a song to end a day...or would I say almost everything?

I am in this emotional mood now, I don't know what I'm upset with or sad with.
Is it because of the band, the usual life I have got used to with, or just because of you?

The band, Unsettled, has been together for a good 10 months plus.
Although this band was never really been really close, but we went through some performances and competition together, it was a great experience.
I am already used to having a bunch of noisy plp jamming together everyweek.
To sign off a drop-off form today, together, is just breaks my heart.
No more Unsettled.

And then you guys, which I have meet 2 of you, as online friends, and then as personal friends until today we're just too close, plp thinks that we have known each other since forever. It would be quiet without you guys.
I don't think I can get use to this. It's been so much of support and great times with you guys.

And you, I'm trying to get use to listening to your voice lesser by days.

And now might not be seeing you ever again.
I don't know how am I going to get over this.
It just break my heart just to think of not seeing you guys.

These two are really talented musicians, Aleksey Igudesman and Hyung-Ki Joo or known as Igudesman & Joo.
On first look on their shows, you would thought they are comedians, but they are actually classical musicians which brings you music in a funny way, not making fun of music they said.

I think I first saw their videos online about 2 years ago. Can't stop laughing while watching it. My personal favourite is "Rachmaninov had big hands". Take a look at some of their videos here.

Was too excited until speechless really.

Visit to KLCC Skybridge, Part 1

Took off from work yesterday because server was on maintenance, and still is.
So I took the chance to go up to the Skybridge (the bridge in between the Petronas Twin Towers) as I always wanted to.

Suppose to go with Jing and Alvin.
I started to morning call them at 0630...by 0645 I gave up, went back to sleep.
Woke up again at 0730 and call again.
Ring...ring...ring...
Only managed to wake 1 up...which was Alvin, which was pretty panic that it was so late.
We planned to get there early so we could get up there earlier, but hrmmm...

So, since everyone was sooooo late, I also took my own sweet time, went to eat breakfast with my dad and then only head to KLCC.

It was only 9.30am.
And they are issuing tickets for 11.45am!

So I drop Alvin a call, ask him not to rush.
He told me he tried to call Jing too, but no one picked up.
Confirm, she CAN'T come already then.
So I took 2 tickets.

It was so early, KLCC, was so dead, but still a lot people walking inside, most of them are people, going to work.
I headed to Menara Maxis to pay my phone bills.
And then walked outside to shot some photos of KLCC.

It was quite a gloomy morning, cloudy, or was it just too early?

No one's around...

Malaysia's independence day just passed by~ hence these...

After all the photo snapping and all, it was around 10am, the mall's open. I went in and went to hang out at Kinokuniya while waiting, for someone who takes the KTM, you can imagine... sigh...
I can't remember how long I haven't been to Kino, now they even had changed the interface for the book searching machine.

So I just walk to various book sections to take a look, including of course Multimedia and IT books, which I realize have so many new things, I feel so out, I don't know what world I am living in now. And then also to the travel sections, to check out the place I would go soon (if u know, lol). And then to the music section per usual.

Was checking out those miniature score books. Feel those are quite budget and useful. As I think I can actually blow it much bigger to use? Haha!
So, I was looking and looking and someone just gave me a shock again by surprising me from behind AGAIN =.=" Yes, Alvin, good morning, very SHOCKING way to say good morning.

There were some, but I guess we got it already some of those, or they're just too expensive.
Went to check out the Electone Magazine too. The newest issue wasn't there yet, just some previous issues.

Anyhow we request to open the packaging and just take a look, yea, look only coz we doesn't read Japanese what! Was it the first time Alvin look into the Electone magazine? He was impressed with quite some of the contents. Especially there's also players that he respected a lot in there, and concert schedules in Japan and of course SCORES!
*Alvin....get one larrrrrr*

Was so enjoying the magazine that I keep having to remind that it's almost time to go.
We need to be there in time for our time slot.

So there, reluctantly he returned the magazine and off we go.

‘Talentime’ back in cinemas

Those who didn't manage to watch it, do catch it then.
I guess I'll be watching it again and make myself cry even more this time around.

Primeworks Studios and a group of cinema operators are coming together to honour the memory of the late film director Yasmin Ahmad by organising a re-screening of her latest movie "Talentime" on 13 August 2009 onwards, for a limited time only. The screening will be held across various cinemas nationwide and the organisers have pledged to donate RM1 to an undisclosed charity organisation for every movie ticket sold.

"Yasmin Ahmad was an icon of our film industry who will be sorely missed, and this is our way of honouring her memory and allowing viewers to enjoy her work on the big screen once again," said Dato’ Sri Farid Ridzuan, Media Prima Berhad’s Group CEO Television Networks. "Those who missed it will now have a chance to catch it, while those who have watched it before are welcome to come along again to join us in remembering her while contributing to charity."

* "Talentime" will screen at: GSC Cinemas in Mid Valley Megamall (KL), Queensbay Mall (Penang), Sunway Carnival (Prai), Dataran Pahlawan (Malacca), Alamanda (Putrajaya);

It really affected my mood for the whole day because of that phone call I got in the morning yesterday.
It does really feels like, I'm being told off to stay away, mayb I'm just thinking one step too much.
I guess he didn't expect it was me on the call?
It seems like you doesn't know what happened...
I don't want you to get hurt, nor argue...
Just let it be okay...I'll be fine...i wish u could protect me from this...
But I think I should just look after myself...I know what I'm doing, hope u does too...

It was a tiring Saturday...per usual... =_=
But that day was extra! But special... bcoz I get to see Andoh!!!
OMGGG~ *jumps*

I was late to the masterclass a bit, when I got in, Andoh-san already started his talk.
This felt like I was late to class, hahahhaha~! Sneaking in, quietly sat down.
Andoh used Another Century as example of explaination for the class. ^_^
Cool to see STAGEA is so convenient but it is not affordable...at all.............!
STAGEA ELS-01c costs almost 40k...

I tell u, I really don't like Yamaha HQ's festival hall lor, always so dark...take pic also hard...
Is not nice to blast a flash when someone's giving lecture... =_="
ISH, can't capture Andoh's handsome face nicely T-T

And then they request him to play a song after d lecture.
Andoh then said, he will play a song that won't be playing at concert that night...
and it was..........
KISEKI!!!! OMG, WHYYY!!!???
Now, I am happy he's playing right there, right at the STAGEA!
But it's such a good song that he should play for everyone else!!

At first me, Jing and Alv was sitting behind, then I cannot tahan already, walk to the side and watch Andoh play and snap some photos.
Andoh really have very nice, attractive, long fingers ^.^"

After that, some QnA and all, 2 hours' Master Class comes to an end.
Some people went up to him wanting photos, autograph and all.
I did too...but is for asking some questions LOL!
Out of the blue suddenly I feel like asking that,
about me having physical problem, any advice for my pedal stepping skillz (from the master?)

I must say, Andoh is a really nice person, really really nice.
When he first heard what I asked, I can see his face was with the shocked expression and then sympathy... awww... I am sorry to make u feel sorry ~_~

He asked if I feel pain when I play, and then advice that I massage my leg after playing.
And I continue asking about way of stepping with my condition.
And then....he sat down and show me at the STAGEA!!
OMG!! I was sooooooo touched T_____T
to see Andoh demo for me... and some tips for me and the rest who flocked around and watched... XD

Well we all had to rush off to classes, so didn't stay too long...
It was a benificial 2 hours ^_^ Thanks Andoh sensei~~ =P
